Life Moves On
Now that we're done with the house, I suppose the "house building blog" can basically be closed. We've just sorta been living life more as normal people anymore; I've been going to the gym, we take naps, this weekend we're planning to go shopping at a Beaver Sports sale. Still kinda strange, but very nice. I'm also going to get started on Tucker's training this weekend so I can start riding regularly - especially once summer rolls around! I also need to get started working on the Bug, and Will needs to get going on the SV and the Suzuki so he has some available motorcycles this summer other than my R-1. We can still share, but it's be nice to have a couple back-up bikes. We're still going to be very busy, but we can be busy with things with which we CHOOSE to be busy. A wonderful difference...

Drama, drama, drama...
So the loving hubby is already in the frame of mind that we should give Angel, our new puppy, up, simply because she is just that: a puppy. Granted, he's never had a puppy before, and though he loves Biddy, he never had to deal with living with him as a puppy. He never knew how much work they are, how much patience they take, and how frustrating they can be from time to time. However, we are not giving Angel up - that would make us into the kind of people I don't understand and never wish to be - they give up dogs because they get them as adorable puppies without anticipating the long haul, and then when the dog makes a mess or chews up some shoes, they throw their hands up and give the dog to the pound with little training and less of the cute puppy-ness. Puppies, to me, are rather like kids: you choose to bring one into your lives as a commitment, as a member of the family. Pets are not disposable decor, they are members of the family that have just as much personality, emotion, and delicate feelings as small children, in my opinion. If you doubt me, the next time you yell at your dog or smack it on the butt, look at its face - how the ears (typically) go back, the tail goes down, the face looks unhappy. Either that or it looks at you brazenly like "What?" which is also something not unlike some small children. I consider them to be, to some extent, parallels of each other, only you can't lock kids in a crate or throw them outside for being bad. At least, you shouldn't. I think social services has a problem with that.

Whoops
Seems I need to try to update these blogs a little more. Hadn't updated the building one since September! Course, it would help I suppose if I really ever had much to report. Will and I are as up and down as usual. Stressed from the house, training a new puppy (a very cute puppy, mind you!) and generally being very busy. There is all kinds of drama developing at his work right now, so that's kinda bumming him out. And my patience is just at an end, it would seem.

I just want to go back to bed...

Home At Last
I know it felt like home before, but now it's really home, and here is why: I have two dogs AND a horse. So my life is complete. :) I don't technically OWN the horse - it is Timmie, who we used to own and then sold to Brenna. Bren is having me keep her for a while (an indefinite period at this point) so she can get her younger horse trained without Timmie freaking out because he's leaving and distracting him. So as a result, I get a horse! And it's a horse I already know and have ridden and love, so I'm thrilled. And Caro keeps coming over to my house to bond with her (because Tim used to be her horse) and she's ecstatic that the Timminator is back! Will's gonna be fine... just a big week on the animal front.. hehe

Angel
Mood:  lyrical
Will and I just acquired a new member of our family on Monday! This is Angel:

She is the SWEETEST little thing! Biddy doesn't know what to think of her yet, but we adore her! She is a mish-mash of all kinds of dogs, but lab and rottie are a couple of the major ones. She is only 6.5 weeks old, and she's already the size of a 12-week-old! There were only 3 puppies in her litter, so they had lots of space and plenty of access to food from their mom, so they're big and healthy. I'll keep you updated on her progress, and there will certainly be sections of the Menagerie page devoted to her.

Whoa dude...
Just read through all the old entries in this thing. MAN am I relieved that the wedding planning is over. Don't have to worry about the wedding dress fitting. The dress for Newy's wedding fit fine. That was fun. Wonder if I uploaded any pictures of that... not sure I did, but I'm sure there are plenty at TyandNewy.com, which is the site Newy built about their wedding. It's been pretty cool watching that, especially since I can be free of the wedding planning project. Had fun, glad it's done. Now I can get back to just being concerned about my weight for the sake of my own wellbeing and my motorcycle racing abilities.
Yup... think that's probably about it for now. Just thought I'd put in another installment for all you non-readers of my journals out there. At least I enjoy them!

First Anniversary
Ok, so this entry is a little late, but I've been busy, ok!? Anyway, Saturday was Will's and my first wedding anniversary. We went out to dinner and hung out and that was about it.. nothing excessively special, but we're two people with opposite schedules and a house to build. Not tons of spare time or energy to be had, we've found. But it was nice. Still strange to think that it's already been a year since the wedding. I guess it's sort of nice because all the wedding planning concerns are behind us. The most wedding-related stuff I have to worry about this year has to do with Newy's wedding next month, and mostly it's making sure my dress fits. At least this time it came in too big...
Anyway, that's the latest update. Tune in for another riveting entry at some undisclosed later date!

Still workin' on it
Our schedules are still completely opposite, and we never see each other, but overall we're coping. We made the choice of getting married at a very stressful time in our lives, and now we have to deal. We're close to moving into the house, which will reduce major amounts of stress because living in it will make it that much easier to WORK on it! I'm being sorta stubborn about the whole moving in thing, because Will doesn't feel like we'll realistically be able to be moved in until the end of next month, but I am through waiting. I'll do the work and I'm fine with living in an unfinished building. The way I see it, we'd basically be camping for a while, with which I have no problem.
Back to life other than building, we have spent our first year acquainting ourselves with marriage and one anothers' quirks. It's been an uphill battle because we are both very stubborn and we are both youngest siblings, which we have been told amounts to a very trying life. Compromise is one of the marital necessities that seems to be the biggest problem. I would love to be able to objectively claim that it is entirely because he never gives an inch (which is how I feel it is), but that is neither realistic nor fair. Just frustrating, I guess...
